Today, we’re take a closer look at The Ordinary’s latest Retinal 0.2% Emulsion. With its potent retinol formulation, this skincare product promises to deliver noticeable improvements in skin texture, tone, and overall appearance.

Retinal 0.2% Emulsion by The Ordinary

For: Well-aging

Product function: All the things? Clincally proven after 1 bottle, to improve skin firmness/elasticity, refine skin texture, visibly reduce dark spots, improve look of crows feet, frown lines, forehead wrinkles and give glow!

Price: $14.90 USD

Formula highlights: Texture. A gel-like emulsion that’s weightless to layer and absorbs completely and quickly. I always have to work fast and I’ve personally never had an issue with this sitting on my skin and staining pillowcases.

Application: I apply 1 to 1.5 pumps – a very thin layer on dry skin. If new to this strength, phase it in starting with 1x a week and build up. I would start using this over moisturiser eventually using after hydration steps and before moisturisers.

What I didn’t like: If not careful the formula can potentially stain, though not permanently. I experienced a jaundiced moment during application but disappears after it absorbs.

Final thoughts: A new personal favourite from the brand.
